Hello Google Allo, you are smart and probably my newest friend.

Google I/O 2016 brought several surprises and innovations to the public including the release of Android Nougat. Over time, Google has moved its chat portal/application from Google Chat to Hangouts, and now to something very distinctive that is possibly gonna change the way we interact. So, wave your hands to Google Allo – The AI-powered messaging client.

Rumor had it, that Allo was to be launched on 21st of September and that has been true to the point. This new app will definitely push your messaging experience beyond the lines. Not only does it improve over Hangouts, but also lays down a smarter fashion of connecting people. There is a lot more than just messaging. So let us take a deep look at the long awaited smart messaging app by Google.

Feature Walk-Through

1. Shout & Whisper

Make your words even more loud and clear. Allo emphasizes your text and statements by simply adjusting the size of the letters. This way, you will be able to spread out your words in a much clear manner.

Whisper & Shout

The process of shouting or whispering is more smart and easily accessible. Just express yourself by typing it down, then press and hold the ‘Send‘ button. Now scroll up and down to adjust the size of the text.

2. Smart Reply

Allo is intelligent and will track your activities to serve you better. Smart Reply allows the app to carry on the conversation with one-tap, by suggesting text and emojis. To make it more compliant, you will need to use the app as much as possible in your OWN way. This will help Allo determine the kind of personality you are and assist you even better with time.

3. Be Artistic With Photos, Emojis, & Stickers

Sharing photographs with your family and friends has never been more interesting. Allo will spare the worthless effort to go through the trouble of first editing a photo using a 3rd-party app and then sharing it individually. To ease up, pick a photo from your device, whirl a doodle or add some text and make photos speak for themselves.

Stickers, Photos & Emojis

The new emoticons and stickers are now even more fun. They are bigger and adds even a wider collection to the lot. Additional sticker packs are available for download. You can add new packs, remove old ones, and rearrange them as they suit you.

4. Go Incognito

Getting some privacy may not be easy in real-world, but it is in Allo. Just as you may have done it on Chrome, carrying on a private conversation could be done by entering Incognito mode on Allo. Tap on the chat icon on the bottom-right of the screen and select “Start incognito chat“.

Incognito Chat on Google Allo

Go on chatting endlessly without worrying at all. Set an expiry time of the chat by tapping the clock icon besides the profile picture. The time could be changed on either side of the chat by the users.

5. Google Assistant At Your Service

With Google Now being shut down officially, the Google Assistant has been announced with Allo. Get the assistant involved into the conversation without disturbing it.

Add “@Google” to the text field and the assistant will help you with everything. Ask it to do anything, from sharing locations to translating text, or finding answers to your questions. You can also start a one-to-one chat with the Google Assistant and ask it anything.

Allo’s user-interface is pretty much the same as Hangouts, but much clean and simple to start with. We love Google Allo and salute the developers for taking a leap and changing the way we communicate over messages. What do you think about it? Let us know through the comments below.
